“Women & Spirit: Catholic Sisters in California” features the lasting contributions Sisters have made in developing California’s church and society. This exhibit reflects the work of communities of strong women who bravely placed their stamp on California life, and how the communities to which they belonged provided women with an outlet for grace, beauty, intellect and leadership.
This online version of the exhibit features photographs, artifacts, and audio-visual materials from the original installation at The California State Museum in Sacramento, which ran from January 2012 – January 2013. A traveling version of the “Women & Spirit: Catholic Sisters in California” exhibit is also currently on tour. To learn more about the traveling exhibit, go to womenandspiritcalifornia.com
