Every five years, sisters, staff, and members of the Providence House Community, a supportive housing project for people with disabling HIV, AIDS and other physical disabilities, piece a quilt in memory of residents who have passed away. These remembrance quilts are modeled on the concept of the national AIDS memorial quilt. As one resident of Providence House exclaimed, “you’ve allowed me to actually thrive, rather than merely exist.”
